A drone strike yesterday ripped Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani to shreds. As Iran’s top military commander, Soleimani was considered second only to Ayatollah Khamenei.
Gen. Soleimani had the blood of thousands of innocents on his hands, including hundreds of Americans. The recent attack at our embassy in Baghdad came under his direction. Soleimani also helped planned the Benghazi attack.
He had been considered untouchable for fears an assassination would spark a wider conflict. However, President Trump made clear in a speech this afternoon that the Soleimani strike was justice for the acts of terrorism he perpetrated over the past 20 years.
Trump added that he took decisive action to save American lives (RELATED: Soleimani Was Planning Imminent Attacks to Kill Americans) and ultimately stop a war, not start one.
