FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – With the multitude of national security and intelligence topics that American Defense News (ADN) cannot adequately cover every day – we are providing our readers a PDB – not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – Paul’s Daily Briefing.
Today’s PDB Includes a variety of critical issues such as the growing battles over the critical U.S. defense budget as liberals look to axe much needed military investments, JCS condemns Myanmar military’s violence against civilians, Russian troops increasing on Ukraine border and Russian aircraft enter Alaska’s Air Defense ID Zone. Also – was the Pentagon ready for the Suez Canal blockage?
And why is the Defense Department hiding the numbers of illegal migrants to be housed on U.S. military bases?
Plus – former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton says U.S. must confront North Korea via China.
TODAY’S PDB HIGHLIGHTS:
Pentagon said it was ready for extended Suez Canal blockage. After a container ship twice as heavy as a Ford-class carrier halted traffic through the Suez Canal for nearly a week, the Defense Department emphasized that it prepares for this type of scenario.
China Threat – Myanmar
Joint Statement of Chiefs of Defense Condemning Military-Sponsored Violence in Myanmar. America’s Joint Chiefs joined the military leaders from nearly a dozen other countries to condemn the violence Saturday by Myanmar’s Armed Forces.
Build Up of Russian Troops Along Ukraine Border. Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Ruslan Khomchak says that Russia is building up troops along its border, and says the move poses a threat to Ukrainian security. This comes as both countries blame each other for ceasefire violations as violence continues.
Russian Tu-142s enter Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone. The Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Region early March 29 tracked two Russian Tu-142 maritime patrol aircraft entering the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone, Alaskan Command announced.
