As I have written numerous times since the beginning of the COVID outbreak, including most recently, here, and here, there is growing expert opinion that the COVID-19 pandemic did originate as a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s (WIV’s) biosafety level 4 lab (BSL-4) in China. This opinion is growing in the wake of the World Health Organization (WHO) report, widely derided as a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda whitewash, that concluded the lab leak was ‘extremely unlikely.’
However, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus admitted that China withheld crucial data from the team, making the report less than credible. WIV also reportedly works on classified biodefense projects for the Chinese military, explaining the reason for the massive Chinese government cover-up.
The United States, European Union and other Western countries have all called for China to give ‘full access’ to all data about the original outbreak in late 2019.
Now the latest expert to support this Wuhan biolab leak theory is CNN’s own Chief Medical Correspondent – Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He has broken ranks with his network to voice support for former Center for Disease Control (CDC) Director Dr. Robert Redfield’s belief that COVID-19 virus most likely escaped accidentally from a lab in Wuhan.
CNN commentators sneered at Dr. Redfield last month when Redfield told Gupta in an interview that he believes an accident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology is the ‘most likely’ origin for the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite a lack of clear evidence, former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said in a CNN documentary clip released Friday that he believes the novel coronavirus began transmitting in fall 2019 and that the virus may have originated in a lab in China. https://t.co/r4CpbrNsBl pic.twitter.com/GZl1BbM5ZO

Despite the sneers from CNN’s talking heads, Gupta now says that he finds Dr. Redfield’s theory about a lab-escape origin of COVID-19 ‘informed’ and ‘the most likely’ scenario. As quoted by the Daily Mail, from Mediate’s The Interview podcast, Gupta said:
He’s an experienced virologist. He was also head of the CDC at the time this was happening, which means that in addition to everything that we know, he had access to raw data and raw intelligence that was coming out of China.
My point is that it’s a much more informed sort of thing for him to be saying than for anybody who may have expertise in virology, because he has a lot more knowledge and information that he has that maybe he can’t share, but is informing his opinion.
I was not as shocked by what he said as the fact that he said it. There’s reason to suspect that this is the origin of the virus.
It’s a big virology lab right in Wuhan that happened to be studying bat coronaviruses. Just from an Occam’s razor standpoint, finding the simplest explanation, it would make sense.
As I wrote about earlier, former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has warned of the risks posed by China’s dangerous biolabs. He has also asserted that despite ostensibly being a civilian institution, the Wuhan lab has worked on ‘secret projects with China’s military.’
Pompeo said, according to the Daily Mail, ‘The WIV has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017.’ ADN
