As Russia Bullies Ukraine, Biden Caves to Putin Threats – Cancels US Warships Visit to Black Sea

ANALYSIS – As we first reported in our April 15 PDB, after being threatened by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the Biden administration has embarrassingly canceled the planned deployment of two U.S. warships to the Black Sea near Ukraine. This sends a horrible signal of weakness amid Russia’s massive military buildup and blustering on Ukraine’s border, and diminishes the impact of the Russia sanctions announced Thursday.

noted on April 13 that Russia called the United States an adversary and told U.S. warships to stay well away from Crimea “for their own good,” calling their deployment in the Black Sea a provocation. And it appears, despite his strong anti-Russia rhetoric and bombast, President Biden blinked.

On that same day, in a rare, coordinated warning, Chinese communist leaders also warned Biden to stay away from Taiwan.

According to Politico, the Pentagon yesterday scrapped the “Black Sea transit by two Navy destroyers this week due to concerns about escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the plans.” The ships, the USS Donald Cook and the USS Roosevelt, are in the Mediterranean Sea conducting maritime security operations.

Politico added that: “Earlier this month, the Navy notified Turkey, which manages traffic through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits leading to the Black Sea under the 1936 Montreux Convention, that they were tentatively planning a routine transit by the two destroyers, according to a U.S. defense official.”

That two destroyer transit is now off.

While the Pentagon and White House try to spin the decision as routine, or not significant, or trying to avoid provocation, Putin can only see this dramatic reversal as cowardice. Especially as it comes directly on the heels of Putin’s warning to Biden, just three days ago.

China too will see this Biden reversal as a further sign of lack of resolve in relation to their own coordinated threats and warning about Taiwan.

Meanwhile, as a further show of defiance and contempt from Putin, Russia announced it would be closing part of the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait for foreign warships until October, under the pretense of conducting military exercises.

A Ukrainian spokesperson said Russia’s actions violate international law and creates a serious danger of Russia moving to block access to the Black Sea and link its mainland to Crimea. Sadly, Biden’s weakness in the Black Sea now, will only provoke more Russian, as well as Chinese aggression. ADN

Old Joe has worn the dunce cap his whole life. He is an idiot, senile, just a puppet being controlled by whom? Yeah, throw us into another unstable cold war. Just like CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC want so they have something to talk about because their ratings are plummeting with American viewers. No-one trusts these baboons anymore. For all real Americans, they should be a target, not anyone you should listen to.

Yes siree bob — I’m going to show Trump “how to do it”. It’s kind of humiliating to see this stumbling old fool trying to ‘act’ like a President. Unfortunately, this is the way the rest of the world sees us. If we had a President (Trump for instance), this fiasco in the Ukraine would have never started in the first place. The whole thing would have been solved “on the phone” with, perhaps, a personal meeting to follow. The die is now cast; the whole world KNOWS the U.S. is ‘out to lunch’ and the work Trump ACCOMPLISHED will go down the drain. Peace in the mid-east, moving towards fruition, has been brought to an abrupt halt. The far east problem, defused by Trump, is again raising its ugly head while our “leader” (?) is busily throwing Trump’s accomplishments away while he HIDES from his adoring (?) public. To quote Shakespeare, “WE ARE UNDONE”!!!

Senile Joe, a lifetime politician, fable teller, his crooked family and socialist Democrats running the show – I don’t think we have a chance to come out of this. Then there is the Supreme Court that recently, again, refused to hear any cases regarding the evidence of voter fraud and an obvious rigged election.

“This sends a horrible signal of weakness…”
Joe Biden is like his former boss Obama. He wants to destroy America. You do this by sowing the seeds of distrust and unreliability among your friends and allies. And you bolden your enemies by sending a horrible signal of weakness. That’s how you destroy America. And then you blame it all on Trump.

Nikita Khrushchev was Ukrainian. When he became General Secretary, he gave a slice of Russia to Ukraine. Soviet “law” required that he get approval of the Duma, but he didn’t. Russia now sees this gift as illegal, and wants it back. Russia and Ukraine should settle this. USA should butt out, but urge them to settle it peacefully.

There’s certainly an argument that the Crimea should be Russian, but not so East Ukraine and certainly not MORE of East Ukraine. Weakness in the face of aggression and invasion (whether in Europe with Russia, in Taiwan/South China Sea with China, or even our Southern Border with invaders from all over the world) never ends well.

Crimea was taken by Russia during the Obama administration. Now Russia wants all of Ukraine. Ukraine joined NATO’s enhanced opportunity partner interoperability program on June 12, 2020, the U.S. is part of NATO thus a partner to Ukraine.

We will see Ukraine taken by Russia just like Crimea was during the Obama administration, we will see Taiwan taken over by China and the youth of today will see Iran attack Israel. This is what you get with an administration that is run by foreign interests.
