FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – With the many national security and intelligence topics that American Defense News (ADN) cannot adequately cover every day – in collaboration with the Center for American Defense Studies (CADS) – we are providing our readers a PDB:

Not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – Paul’s Daily Briefing.

Today’s PDB includes a variety of critical issues such as  –NATO may train Afghan special operators in Europe. Stealth fighter mock-up appears at China’s aircraft carrier testing facility. The US weighs the possibility of airstrikes if Afghan forces face a crisis. What does the Marine Corps’ return to the sea mean for the Army?

US accelerating hypersonic missile development.

US military wants billions to make sure it can beat hypersonic weapons.

Senate report says protests and optics weighed on the military.

Russia Warns Ukraine, US Warns Russia.

House Republican demands West Point cease critical race theory trainings to military cadets.

And MORE.

TODAY’S PDB:

Pentagon Woke Watch

House Republican demands West Point cease critical race theory trainings to military cadets. Rep. Mike Waltz said enemies “don’t care about race, religion, or socioeconomic background.

Homeland Security

The Capitol riot and the Pentagon. A Senate report says protests and optics weighed on the military.

China Threat

Stealth fighter mock-up appears at China’s aircraft carrier testing facility. China is stepping up its aircraft carrier program on all fronts with the emergence of a stealth fighter mock-up at a naval test facility, suggesting that China intends to operate the type on its ships.

Russia Threat

Biden warns Putin on hostility toward democracy before summit. President Joe Biden warned Russian President Vladimir Putin of U.S. retribution if he menaces other democracies, ahead of the first meeting between the two leaders in Geneva next week.

Putin warns Ukraine on NATO ambitions after Biden-Zelenskiy call. Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a harsh warning over prospects for Ukraine joining NATO, saying those in the country opposing membership were anxious not to be caught in a middle of a conflict.

Iran Threat – Cuba,  Venezuela

US warns Venezuela, Cuba to turn away Iranian ships believed to be carrying arms. Caracas is trying to leverage the situation to gain relief from U.S. sanctions, officials said.

Afghanistan

Help the Afghan Air Force to blunt Taliban attacks. At the NATO Summit in Brussels, the United States should finalize a plan with its allies to ensure the Afghan air force has the maintenance and logistical support it requires to remain combat effective.

US weighs possibility of airstrikes if Afghan forces face crisis. The Pentagon is considering whether to intervene with warplanes or drones in the event that Kabul is in danger of falling to the Taliban, though no decisions have been made.

NATO may train Afghan special operators in Europe. But experts say training may suffer after Western troops withdraw.

Military

What does the Marine Corps’ return to the sea mean for the Army? The U.S. Army is D.C.’s latest punching bag as the Indo-Pacific becomes the priority region for the Department of Defense.

Defense Department: US accelerating hypersonic missile development. Development of hypersonic missiles is accelerating, but the Department of Defense said on Wednesday it is staying within its $6.6 billion budget for the weapons program.

The US military wants billions to make sure it can beat hypersonic weapons. Not only are hypersonic weapons causing new problems for existing missile defense technologies, but lasers are approaching operational readiness for space, and potential rivals are massively expanding their Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) arsenals.

The last person on this planet that should be negotiating on behalf of the United States is Joe Biden, followed closely by Kamala Harris. In fact, NO Democrat should be allowed to negotiate for this country. Period…

While meeting with Putin, Joe Blow will wear a mighty ponderous earpiece instructing him what to say next: ‘Cmon, MAN!’ Still, Putin will devour him for lunch.
