Enrollment in the VA’s newest life insurance program has dropped and we have the details here. The program, which will be called VALife, offers guaranteed acceptance whole life insurance to all Veterans age 80 and under with any level of service related disability. Even Veterans 81 and older may qualify – if they are able to meet certain criteria.

VALife will open their life insurance program to more Veterans as time limits are eliminated. While those over 81 may still face a time limit to register, the majority of those registering in the program will have a greater chance of being able to register. The previous Veteran program, the Service-Disabled Veterans Life Insurance (S-DVI), had a two year time limit to apply and even included health requirements that Veterans must meet. In contrast VALife increases the coverage amount available to service-connected Veterans while offering a max of $40,0000 a raise from the $10,000 S-DVI provided Veterans with.
