Service Member Found Dead In Pentagon Parking Lot

According to the Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder a military service member was found dead in a vehicle outside of the Pentagon Tuesday afternoon. The body was discovered in the north parking lot after a welfare check was preformed on the man in the vehicle. Though further details on the man have yet to be released.

Ryder’s statement mentioned,

“At approximately 3:30 p.m. EDT today the Pentagon Operations Center received a call requesting a welfare check on a military service member.”

Ryder said Pentagon police officers responded to the North Parking, where they discovered the service member in his vehicle apparently deceased.

The U.S. Army Continues To Shrink

Further details have not been released as rules regulate the man cannot be publicly identified until 24 hours pass from notifying the family. Arlington County Emergency Medical Services had however responded to the scene where they too confirmed the man was deceased. Details on manner of death were also not released Tuesday. Though there is also an investigation ongoing following the discovery of the body.
